long: As a Graphic Artist at Blue Byte / Ubisoft in Düsseldorf, I worked for about one year on the 3D realtime strategy game "The Settlers 6 - Rise of an Empire". Most of the work I did were pre-visualization graphics and animations of the overall look (technically and graphically). I designed, modeled and textured some 3D low-poly characters and buildings. Additionally, I was involved in some aspects of the game-concept. As a Graphic Artist at Blue Byte / Ubisoft in Düsseldorf, I worked on the 3D realtime strategy game "The Settlers 5 - Nebelreich" (addon 2). For the second addon, I created some PR-/ marketing graphics for magazines and the internet. As a Graphic Artist at Blue Byte / Ubisoft in Düsseldorf, I worked on the 3D realtime strategy game "The Settlers 5 - Legends" (addon 1). For this addon I designed, modeled and textured further five 3D low-poly characters. And I created many PR-/ marketing graphics for advertisement, packaging, merchandising, magazines and the internet. As a Graphic Artist at Blue Byte / Ubisoft in Düsseldorf, I worked on the 3D realtime strategy game "The Settlers 5 - Heritage of the Kings" for about 2 1/2 years. In the early development phase, I designed many different versions of the new "grown-up" settlers. Then I modeled and textured them as 3D low-poly characters. The game-concept constantly changed dramatically for one year (different styles, settings, eras). We created three different looking playable prototypes before the final concept. Finally, I designed, modeled and textured over 40 low-poly characters. I made some GUI-graphics and many PR-/ marketing graphics for advertisement, packaging, merchandising, magazines and the internet. We finished that game within a year! As a Graphic Artist at Blue Byte / Ubisoft in Düsseldorf, I worked on the 2D strategy game "The Settlers 4 - Community Pack" (mission cd 2). For the second mission cd I participated on the creation of the cover-art. As a Graphic Artist at Blue Byte / Ubisoft in Düsseldorf, I worked on the 2D strategy game "The Settlers 4 - The Trojans and the Elixir of Power" (addon 1). For that addon I designed, modeled, textured and animated around 13 buildings. Additionally, I was involved in the creation of some background images and GUI-graphics. I drew some storyboards for Intro, Extro and Cutscenes. And I created some PR-/marketing graphics for magazines and the internet. As a Lead Designer at Boris Games / JoWood in Stuttgart, I worked on the realtime 3D strategy game "FrontierLand". For one year, I designed 30 characters and 40 buildings. Drawings and prototypes were done. The characters were modeled, animated and rendered with Softimage and became tiny little sprites. The buildings became textured realtime 3D models with Lightwave. Further, I developed the Logo and some menu screens. But the main task was the coordination of six Artists. - I decided to leave the company, because there was no game concept. And the schedule, set by JoWood, was ridiculous unrealistic. As an Graphic Artist at Boris Games / JoWood in Stuttgart, I worked on the second version of the 2D realtime strategy game Mayday: "Mayday 2". I invented a new interface and party logos. I designed some buildings and solved technical issues (color palette, sprite anti-aliasing, unit color schemes etc.). - But the work lasts only a few month, because our publisher JoWood canceled that project. As a Graphic Artist for Brainstorm Technologies GmbH in Bochum, I spent half a year making graphics for the restaurant simulation "American Dream". I drew many background images and created pictures of 30 different hamburgers. I animated some 2D characters. I came late to that project, so I had to adopt their graphic style. As a Graphic Artist for New Generation Software, a new action adventure called "Quasi Hasi" should be developed for the Amiga computer. So I drew eight background images and 40 scribbles. I made 2D and 3D animations of the main character and other objects (doors, birds, cars, etc.). - But that project did not make it. As a Graphic Artist for Tele-Cut (video productions) in Mülheim, I made some video title sequences and openings. I made a practical training at the Repro Studio 4034 (print pre-production) in Düsseldorf. I scanned, manipulated and retouched photos and dias with Photoshop, and edited documents with QuarkXpress. |
